Makerspace, Industrial Shop

Woodworking / Makerspace Workshop, Industrial Shop

This is an active woodworking/makerspace shop. In addition to woodworking, the shop is capable of welding, plasma cutting, industrial sewing - multi-material fabrication. Because of our vintage tooling / artifacts and current tooling, the shop is ready to do "set fabrication". For production people looking for divergent & distinctive separate spaces at the same four-story location we offer multiple film shoot locations- accessed with our freight elevator. The content of your project possibility can be more than shooting in one space. Just reach out to us with your production needs.
It is built as a commercial shop and currently I volunteer teaching younger people who are seeking out to learn meaningful skills and trades. We have constant stream of ongoing projects. The shop has 2 westerly 4 inch thick glass block windows 6 ft x 6 ft which allows light yet is deceptively quiet due to its bunker 1 ft overall thick walls. Approximately at 12 ft high ceiling. As such it is an ideal audio space for those seeking documentary interviews.

The shop is approximately 1,250 square feet with an additional 800 square feet for film / photo staging area. It has 110, 220 and three phase power. On the ground floor with ample parking in the two truck driveway. If you're looking for an active industrial shop background / set this is a resource. Currently, we restore many vintage artifacts and industrial items for our other spaces as well as fabricating projects with contemporary industrial materials. We also have an array of vintage tools and workbenches for those seeking an old world workshop environment. We have various projects with different materials such as copper, stainless steel, electrical, vintage canvas fabric etc that could be staged for a particular period set.

It is an active commercial shop and I also do volunteer teaching of people various trade skills.
